Police arrested a 38-year-old man on the corner of Viben Avenue and Wessel Geldenhuys Street on Sunday afternoon, on suspicion that he had stolen property on him.
According to Brackenfell police spokeswoman Captain Erica Crous, police spotted the man coming from the industrial area, carrying something heavy. But he dropped the load when he saw the police van.
“Three rolls of copper wire were found covered in heavy-duty plastic but fell out when it dropped to the ground,” she said.
