Library closed for repairs

Kraaifontein library closed their doors on April 3 as a nearly 6.6 million rand maintenance project is underway.

The roof of the facility will be replaced and will reopen on May 14. Library users are urged to make use of facilities closest to them , being Eikendal, Durbanville and Brackenfell libraries.

Mayoral committee member for safety and security; and social services, JP Smith said: “The closure of these facilities does mean that users are impacted, but we implore them to bear with us while the work is completed. Because of the nature of the work and various safety considerations, it is not possible to keep the facilities open to the public or expect staff to inhabit the buildings during this time. Like a car that requires regular servicing to ensure optimal performance, the City too has to look after the condition of its 104 services points to ensure that we’re able to provide the best possible services to our patrons.”
