The Durbanville Rose Garden is inviting couples to celebrate their love among the most romantic of all blooms this Valentine’s Day.
Entry to this municipal garden is free, and all are welcome to visit and bring a blanket and picnic basket, says facility manager Zitobile Zikova.
“People must not shy away and pass thinking this is privately owned. People are welcome here to have picnics at no cost. Unfortunately, alcohol is prohibited here. Most of the people use this venue to take wedding pictures over the weekend.”
The garden also has a clubhouse that can be booked for baby showers, birthdays and other small gatherings at a cost of R891. However, the clubhouse, notes Mr Zikova, is not suitable for weddings, and alcohol and loud music are not permitted.
It is prohibited to pick roses at the garden.
