Laptop and weed trimmer recovered

Police have arrested two men suspected of burgling a Goodwood home.

A laptop and weed trimmer were stolen from the Surrey Street home on Friday November 23, according to the police.

Five days later, police saw video footage of the crime and identified two men in it as “wanted” suspects. One was arrested in the Olympic Park squatter camp, another at a house in Goodwood Street, where the stolen weed trimmer was recovered.

An officer recovered the stolen laptop from a Caledon Street address, said Goodwood police spokesman Captain Wayne Theunis.

Meanwhile, on Monday November 26, two men, aged 27 and 34, were arrested in Goodwood for allegedly stealing another laptop from an Ambleside Street house in Plattekloof Glen.

A woman was badly hurt when two cars collided in Thornton last week.

Paramedics got to the crash, at about 9pm on Tuesday November 27, and found two cars in the middle of the Hazendal and Forest Drive intersection.

“Three people were found walking around on the scene,” said ER24’s Russel Meiring.

“Paramedics assessed the patients and found that a woman, believed to be in her 50s, had sustained serious injuries to her chest. She was treated for her injuries and provided with pain-relief medication before she was transported to a nearby hospital.”
