The Kraaifontein police precinct remains at the top spot in the province for home burglaries for four quarters in a row, according to the latest SAPS crime stats.
The stats, covering the beginning of October to the end of December last year, were released on Friday February 16.
They show home burglaries in Kraaifontein increased 13% from the same period a year ago: 159 to 180 cases.
Meanwhile, murder cases in Kraaifontein have dropped 18% from 60 cases a year ago to 49 cases. But rapes have increased 10% from 59 to 65 cases.
There were 7710 murders reported in the country in the quarter, up 2% from 7555 cases for the same period a year ago.
