Kraaifontein police joined a high-speed pursuit across the northern suburbs after two men robbed a Clicks store in Mitchell’s Plain on Tuesday March 8, where several items, including body sprays, were stolen.
Mitchell’s Plain police radioed for back-up as they chased the getaway car after the robbers hit the chainstore on Tuesday afternoon. The VW Polo Vivo, with Gauteng licence plates, crashed on the side of the road in Lucullus Street in Joostenbergvlakte and officers arrested the two men, according to Kraaifontein station commander Brigadier Gerda van Niekerk. Mitchell’s Plain officers also arrested two women linked to the crime at the store.
* In Brackenfell, a teenage boy sitting on a red scooter was arrested on Tuesday March 8, said Warrant Officer Erica Crous, spokeswoman for the Brackenfell police. A check on the scooter indicated it had been stolen in Parow. The 16-year old teen appeared at the Kuils River Magistrate’s Court on Friday March 11.
Police arrested a Scottsdene man, 34, on Monday March 14, after he was spotted in a yard in Dirkie Uys Street, Protea Heights, Brackenfell.
It turned out there was an outstanding warrant for the man’s arrest for a 2009 theft case in Kraaifontein.
