Police have smoked out three men accused of robbing a cigarette wholesaler in Goodwood last month.
Goodwood police spokesman Lieutenant Waynne Theunis said officers arrested a man in Mitchell’s Plain on Tuesday May 24 after Cigarettes for Africa in Hugo Street, Goodwood, was robbed on Friday May 20. However two other suspects had remained at large. That changed on Thursday June 8, when Warrant Officer Jacques Pieters and Constable Steven Drury, acting on a tip-off, arrested the men, aged 30 and 33, at separate addresses in Montrose Park.
* A man leaving his Dingle Road house early on Wednesday June 8, spotted his car being towed off by a black VW Golf.
He quickly reported the theft of his red VW Golf to the police.
Lieutenant Theunis said officers assigned to the case were approaching Robert Sobukwe Drive when they saw the black Golf towing the stolen red Golf. They pulled the car over and arrested three people, two men and a woman, aged between 27 and 33.
