The Goodwood Harriers running club is calling on the public to lace up their running shoes and join them for their annual Heritage Run on Saturday September 30.

The club is affiliated with Western Province Athletics and Athletics SA. The run, which is a Coca-Cola League race, will be taking place at N1 City Mall in Goodwood.

“We’ve got the route mapped and it’s available on all our social media platforms. The races will start at different times. We have a 5km run as well as a 10km run and a 10km walk. This is the first year we will be having a 10km walk as well,” said Rene Sparks, Goodwood Harriers spokeswoman.

Ms Sparks said people of all fitness levels could participate in the race. There will be a prize-giving for the different age categories as well as spot prizes.

The Goodwood Harriers members will run their race ahead of time in order to serve as marshals supporting participants during the Heritage Run.

“Goodwood Harriers is like a family club so to us it’s not about how fast you run but that you come and you enjoy yourself. There is a space for those who want to come in a competitive nature and participate, that’s great, but we’re also asking families, friends and clubs to come out in their numbers and support.”

You can go here to sign up. Fees vary. Online entries close on Tuesday September 26.
