Residents will have the chance to get involved in Open Streets, Bellville, next month when Voortrekker Road goes car-free for a few hours on Sunday November 20 (“Voortrekker Road goes car-free in November,” Northern News, September 7).
You can organise an activity on the street, such as a cricket or football, a dance, a board game, storytelling and basically anything that can be done on the street legally and without an “engine”. There will also be an opportunity for City-registered food vendors.
Volunteersare needed to manage traffic, keep children safeandgenerally ensurethingsrun smoothly. A mandatory training session will take place before the event.
