Police have arrested two men after a gang of four robbed Cash Converters in Cape Gate Mall in Brackenfell, last week.
The men, who posed as customers, pretended to buy a R30 000 diamond ring at the store.
One of the men fitted the ring on but ran off with it after the cashier asked if he was going to buy it.
However, their getaway vehicle, a white Toyota Avanza, crashed into another customer’s car in the parking lot. The four suspects fled on foot, but two were nabbed by members of SJC Security and Titanium Security.
However, the ring has not been recovered.
Police spokesman Lieutenant Colonel André Traut, said two men, aged 21 and 31, had been arrested on Friday afternoon — Daily Voice.
