Police arrested two men after a man was robbed of his cellphone in Voortrekker Road.
According to Goodwood police spokesman Captain Waynne Theunis, the mugging on the corner of Hugo Street and Voortrekker Road, was caught on video and went viral on social media.Â
The suspects, aged 17 and 24, were arrested in a joint operation by SAPS and Law Enforcement in Elsies River on Thursday October 17, after the victim saw the video and came forward to open a case.
In another incident, police arrested two more suspected muggers aged 24 and 26 on Thursday October 17 at 5:30am.
Captain Theunis said Constable Llewellyn Brandt was patrolling near Olympic Park when the suspects were seen fleeing the scene after smashing a car window and stealing a cellphone. Â
