The Hawks and SAPS seized more than R3 million worth of mandrax tablets in the Kraaifontein industrial area on Saturday March 3.
According to a statement by SAPS, the drugs were in transit from Gauteng to Cape Town.
The Hawks-led team spotted the truck off-loading boxes onto a private vehicle in Acacia Street.
During a search, 73 packets were found, each containing 1 000 mandrax tablets.
The drivers of both vehicles, aged 26 and 53, were arrested.

Acting on a tip-off, the Hawks, SAPS and Department of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries agents intercepted two vehicles. They had been headed towards Paarl on the R44. When the team searched the vehicles, they found more than R1.5 million worth of abalone.
