Xanthea Limberg, Mayoral committee member for informal settlements, water and waste services, and energy
This is not the norm at Tygerdal, but we acknowledge that the company in question erred on this date (“Industrial dump site”, Northern News, December 6).
We do have operational rules in place, of which users are fully aware and have been compliant with. We have addressed a similar complaint earlier this year. The operational rules for this facility remain unchanged and are as follows:
Chipping allowed from 9am to 3pm, Monday to Friday.
Chipping allowed from 9am, noon on Saturdays.
No chipping allowed on Sundays.
No chipping allowed on public holidays (unless under prior approval and arrangement).
No arrival and loading of trucks earlier than 9am from Monday to Saturday.
No arrival and loading of trucks later than 3pm, Monday to Friday.
No arrival and loading of trucks later than noon on Saturdays.
No trucks allowed on Sundays.
No trucks allowed on public holidays (unless under prior approval and arrangement).
We will formally address this complaint with the company and issue a notice of non-compliance for not adhering to the site rules and special conditions in relation to the public complaints.
