Goodwood police have arrested three people for possession of a car reported stolen in Parow.
Spokesman Captain Waynne Theunis said two men and a woman had been detained on Vasco Boulevard on Wednesday May 31.
They were spotted by Sergeant Andre Brandt and Constable Anthea Millward while on patrol – one of the suspects kept on looking back at the police driving behind them, raising the officers’ suspicion.
The car, a VW Jetta had been pulled over and had tested positive as stolen, said Captain Theunis.
A 27-year-old man was arrested after he was caught with a stolen car on Thursday June 1.
A traffic officer who pulled the man over for talking on his cellphone found the Toyota Corolla had a false licence disk.
Captain Theunis said the suspect had told the officer it was his brother’s car but had later changed his story, saying he had bought the car an hour earlier.
The car was found to have been stolen in Langa in March.
