The Western Province Cat Club is hosting its 131st Championship Show at the NG Kerk in Kuils River south, located along the Langverwacht Road, on Saturday September 28.
Seventy nine different types of cat breeds from the Western Cape, including domestic cats, will be on the show to campaign for the regional Cape Top Cat title on Saturday October 26 at Vredenheim Wine Farm, according to Adri Swart, the chairperson of the club.
She said there will be eight judges officiating, one being a visiting judge from Gauteng.
Entries for this competition closed on Friday September 6, she added.
The breeds on show will include Abyssinian, Burmese, Devon Rex, Exotic, Maine Coon, Norwegian Forest Cat, Oriental, Persian, Ragdoll, Russian, Siamese, Sphynx, Tonkinese.
A private company will be assisting with the running costs of the show and supplying the food prizes to the winners.
The entry fees for the general public will be R20 per adult and R10 for pensioners and children under-12. Doors are open to the public from 10am until 3.30pm.
