Police caught a burglar red-handed last week after he broke into a house in Parow on Monday August 20 at 3pm in Hofmeyer Street.
Captain Kevin Williams, spokesman for Parow police, said the Sector 3 police patrol vehicle responded immediately to the incident. “At the scene police officers found a broken window. They also saw a man trying to hide inside the house. The man fled the scene and jumped into the neighbour’s property,” he said.
Captain Williams said cops chased the man and eventually arrested him. “They confiscated three Fossil watches and another fitness watch. They also found a laptop, data projector and sunglasses outside the house. The value of the stolen property is estimated at R54 000,” he said.
The man, 21, of Uitsig is known to Parow police. He appeared in the Goodwood Magistrate’s Court last week.
