A 28-year-old man has been arrested for burgling a Plattekloof Glen home.
A District Watch officer alerted Goodwood police after he responded to a call-out, in Platte-kloof Road on Tuesday October 16, about a prowler jumping over walls.
The armed-response officer caught a suspect in Wagenaar Street, and when police officers searched him, they found jewellery and two cellphones.
The officers were still questioning the suspect when they heard about a burglary in Armenia Cresent, in Plattekloof Glen.
“The owner reported that
burglar bars to a window
was forced open to gain entry
and two cellphones and jewellery were stolen.
The complainant identified the items as being taken from his home,” said Goodwood police spokesman Captain Waynne Theunis.
Goodwood police arrested a man, 25, on Tuesday October 16, for stealing side mirrors off a BMW in Voortrekker Road.
Police say the BMW owner parked his car in Vootrekker Road on Monday October 15, and when he returned, he found both his side mirrors gone.
“The owner viewed video
footage from one of the
stores where he could see the
incident. On his return on
Tuesday, he saw the suspect
who he saw on the footage removing the mirrors,” Captain Theunis said.
The suspect had been wearing the same clothes from the
day before, the car owner told police.
“The owner apprehended the suspect and handed him over to the police officers.”
