The Brackenfell police will hold a youth camp in Rawsonville for 40 children from Bottelary Primary School, Kraaifontein, from Monday June 27 to Wednesday June 29, during the school holidays.
Brackenfell police spokeswoman Warrant Officer Erica Crous said the children would come mostly from farms around Bottelary and Botfontein roads and Wallacedene. The 40 Grade 6 pupils will be transported by a police bus. Ms Crous said the parents had already signed the indemnity forms for the camp.
“The focus of this youth camp will be to empower these children by focusing on the implication of choices they make in their lives and to their develop leadership skills,” said Warrant Officer Crous.
The camp will deal with a range of issues, including domestic violence, drugs, alcohol abuse, bullying and sexual offences.
Previous camps were held in July and November last year.
