Kraaifontein police are investigating after the body of an unidentified man was found floating in a dam.
The body was found in the dam near Maroela Road, Wallacedene, at about 1pm on Monday, says police spokesperson Anelisiwe Manyana.
A picture seen by Northern News shows bruising on the man’s lips, right cheek and forehead. He was wearing a black jacket and dark blue jeans.
The chairperson of the Wallacedene Development Forum, Mkholisi Mpukumpa, said violent crime plagued the area.
“People are not free here, and they are locking themselves in their houses because crime is thriving. The guns are all over – we need random raids in this place.”
