Be part of inaugural SMME summit

Premier Alan Winde will be one of the speakers at the inaugural summit for Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises on Tuesday June 28.

On Tuesday June 28, the inaugural summit for Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMME) will be held at the Cape Sun Hotel’s VOC Banquet Room in the city centre with more than 200 small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs to discuss the current state of the SMME sector and engage in discussions about how to rebuild the SMME sector in a post-Covid-19 environment.

The summit, hosted by Cycle of Life, aims to bring together small business owners, government leaders, and experts in business development and planning to exchange ideas and find ways to deal with the current challenges facing the SMME sector.

Confirmed speakers include premier Alan Winde, Mereille Wenger, MEC for Finance and Economic Opportunities, James Vos, the City of Cape Town’s mayoral committee member for Economic Opportunities and Asset Management, Dr Catherine Duggan, director of the UCT Graduate School of Business, Bheki Sibiya, chairman, BMF Investments and Zaida Jackson, manager, Small Business Development Agency (SEDA). Those attending the summit will have an opportunity to engage the panel and exchange ideas and SEDA will have staff on standby to provide valuable information.

Tickets for the summit, which starts at 4.30pm, are R160 and can be booked via Quicket. All Covid-19 protocols will be adhered to and refreshments will be available.
