Kraaifontein
police arrested a 25-year-old man for housebreaking and ATM robbery on Wednesday September 2.
Spokesman for Kraaifontein police station Captain Hein Hendricks, said police officers had been patrolling in Wallacedene when they spotted three suspicious looking men jumping into a white VW
Polo in Sam Njokozela Street and speeding off.
The
suspects stopped the car and fled in different directions, but one was caught on an open field near Sojolo Street.
Captain Hendricks said a
grinder, grinder blades, crowbar and other tools were found inside the car.
The suspect
was questioned and investigations lead police to a tavern in Hanzekile Street
in Bloekombos where an ATM had been ground open and an undisclosed amount of
money stolen.
He said the suspect was arrested and detained on housebreaking charges and was due
to appear at the Kuils River Magistrate’s Court.
