Four armed men stormed the Sasol service station on Hindle Road and blew open a drop safe, before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money in a white Mercedes Benz in the early hours of last Wednesday morning.
Giving an update to the crime, provincial police spokesman Captain FC Van Wyk, said the men were still at large after the incident on Wednesday June 1, at about 2.10am.
According to reports, garage manager Anadia Olivier had said one of the man carried an AK-47, while the three others collected the money after the explosion. They had also locked security guards in a kiosk and crawled inside to get the cash. She told the Cape Times no one had been injured.
