Fundraising concert for school

The Cape Town Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (CPYO) and its conductor Brandon Phillips have partnered with Rotary to present a fundraising concert on Sunday May 20, at the Artscape Theatre, at 4.30pm.

The gala is in aid of the CPYO’s Masidlale music initiative at Prestwich Street Primary School in Green Point, and to enable members of the Interact Club at Trafalgar High School to attend an environmental camp at Soetwater.

There will be three young soloists: Sulayman Human will perform the 1st movement of the Chopin Piano Concerto in F minor, Myles Roberts will play Bizet’s Carmen Fantasy, arranged for flute by Borne, while Chris Njapha will perform the 1st movement of the Elgar Cello Concerto.
